I could probably write a book about Wyatt. I’ve been waiting to do this interview for quite a while just to make sure it was deserved and not a favor. I’ve known Wyatt since I was in 7th grade or so. The first time he showed up at the skatepark our buddy yanked his snap on wind pants off, and it became very clear he was down with bikes ever since. I’ve watched Wyatt learn a lot of tricks over the years, roll through mud after falling on rails, and I’ve even had to bear hug him from mutilating a guy for blowing smoke in his face. Shit, I’ve seen him throw people in bushes just to get them to leave us alone. We have gone on plenty of trips, and is definitely my favorite person to ride with. I finally decided it was time to get him a little love, and to use a bunch of the photos I’ve been holding on my computer for a while. With the number of videos I come across everyday that I post over on Dig’s site, it’s gotta be something unique or really good that stands out for me to remember the name usually. My memory isn’t the best in the world, like most people with a few concussions. However, Tom stands out with his real good edits, and even better sliders. The other day he had an edit drop, and I was thinking that I should get his email to do an interview. The next day he emailed me about the edit, and it was on. I got the chance to check these Deluxe grips out at Interbike two months back and was into the idea of running some thicker grips. I got an email shortly after the convention from Mark saying he had them in stock and I was lucky enough to get a pair off him. So I’ve been riding the grips for a few weeks now and I think I got a solid idea of how these grips are….

Given this site gets readers from all over the world, which is mind blowing to me still today. There are times when a brand that isn’t even available in the United States catches my eye and I get curious. A few weeks back Mutant Bikes popped up and I figured it would be cool to get a brand outside of the norm’s perspective on things. I’ve had the chance to ride with Nick quite a few times over the years. He’s a fairly reserved guy who kills it on a bike. It’s cool to see him finally blowing up and getting the coverage he deserves. Given he has the most common name in the world (it’s up there…) he is from Minnesota, which I’m stoked on. When ActionVillage.com announced they were going to be carrying BMX, to be entirely honest, I was a little bummed. I figured it was just a big mail order out to make a few extra bucks off us. After a bit of time, I started realizing they weren’t just there to make a buck, but because they are actually into BMX. I had the chance to meet Jason Start in Chicago at the Dew Tour, and then again at Interbike this year. I was finally feeling their vibe, and I figured maybe if I could get some questions to them it will make a little more sense as to what they are all about to you, also.
