BMX Short Interview with Nick Summerlot

I don’t think you know who this kid is, I don’t. However I think he needs to be heard of, why your asking? Well because the damn kid does 1080s out of a quarter! If you saw the video on The Come Up the other day you would know what I am talking about, incase you missed the video, it is at the bottom of this.

Name:
Nick Summerlot

Age:
17

Location:
Greencastle Indiana

Any sponsors at all?
Nope

Where did you learn to spin so fast!?
I don’t know, I guess it sorta came natural.

When did you realize you could get the 1080?
Two days ago. I was messing around with 720′s, and decided to try a 900. I somehow ended up getting a 900 like first or second try. When I told my friends this they told me I should try 1080, of course I thought they were crazy, but the next day at school thats all I could think about, so when I went to the park I started trying them, and I guess it worked out

How many have you pulled?
Three or Four, but none very clean (in my opinion) I plan on trying a lot more, and hope to get them dialed, and next time I go to the “Flow” doing one on a Box

How long have you been riding?
Four or Five Years

Outside of the 1080 what other tricks do you got on lock?
Tables, turndowns, hang-nothings, tuck no-handers, I love handrails, 180′s over boxes, and going really high…if thats a trick

Who are some of your biggest influences?
Justin Inman, Mike Aitken, Chris Doyle, Luke Becker, Kyle Mullen,

Any shout outs or thanks?
My mom, Luke Becker, Clark Becker, Kyle Mullen, Brownsburg kids, Josh, Salsa, pretty much everybody I ride with

A pretty typical day at the park from Luke Becker on Vimeo.

The clip of the 1080 is at about 1:19 so get pumped by 1:15..

I love this kid from a to z. He puts the turn in turn down, the back in the flip, and the 3 in the 60. Please come ride in San Jose, California.
